While everyone seems to love getting a deep summer tan each and every year, sometimes the sun can be a little much for us now and then. If not, the red blotches and burning of a sun burn set in instead of the deep and rich tan that you might have been hoping for. Not to worry, sunburn is a common issue that tends to happen most to those not using the correct sunscreen and for those who normally do not get out in the sun for extended periods of time. There are many different methods that are said to take the burn and pain out of a sunburn. One of the most common methods is to use Noxzema.

What You Will Need To Treat A Sunburn With Noxzema

  • Water
  • Noxzema
  • White Vinegar
  • Aloe Vera Gel Or Fresh Aloe Vera Leaves

Steps Involved When Treating A Sunburn With Noxzema

  • Take A White Vinegar Shower. While this may sound really gross and really smelly, it is an effective way to take the burn out of a sunburn. After applying the white vinegar to your sunburn, you can shower in cold water. Do not wash your sun burned area.
  • Apply The Noxzema. Generously lather the area that is sun burnt without rubbing the skin. Dabble it on. Either go without clothes or wear loose fitting clothes that will not stick to the Noxzema.
  • Give It Time. Give the Noxzema time to absorb into your skin before lathering on another coat.
  • Load Up On Eight Glasses Of Water A Day. After being out in the sun for an extended period of time, you are bound to be dehydrated. You can replenish and renew your body by making sure to supply yourself with plenty of water. You skin can get dehydrated just like your body. Keep it hydrated with plenty of cool water.
  • Apply Aloe And Enjoy. Noxzema is not the only thing you can rub on a sun burn to provide yourself some much needed relief. Tear an aloe leaf in half and rub it on your skin. Or apply aloe vera gel as you did the Noxzema. Do not rub the sun burned area.
  • Repeat And Continue. You should keep reapplying aloe vera gel or lotion and Noxzema every day until the redness and pain from your sun burn are gone.

After a period of three days or so, depending on the severity of your sunburn, the burning and pain from your sun burn should begin to subside if not go away completely. When suffering from a sunburn, you should try to avoid going out into the sun for long periods of time. If you do decide to go out in the sun, be sure to apply sunscreen this time around. If the Noxzema or aloe vera should cause a allergic reaction or irritate your skin any further, you should consider contacting a doctor or dermatologist to see if they can provide you with other methods of relief from your painful sun burn.
